Mit z.B. Gauß oder geschrieben als LGS ergibt sich
\(I: 0.5x+0.5y=0\\
II: 0.5x+0.5y=0\)
Daraus resultiert die Lösung \(x=-y\) und folglich \(\vec{x}_2 = \begin{pmatrix}x\\y\end{pmatrix}=\begin{pmatrix}-y\\y\end{pmatrix}\). Setzt man nun \(y=1\), so erhält man als zweiten Eigenvektor \(\begin{pmatrix}-1\\1\end{pmatrix}\).
Alternativ über die (umgeformte, allgemeine) Form \((\mathrm{A}-\lambda_i\mathrm{E})\vec{x}_i=0\), die aber hier auch widerrum in der obigen Form \(\begin{pmatrix}0.5 & 0.5\\ 0.5&0.5\end{pmatrix}\begin{pmatrix}x\\y\end{pmatrix}=\begin{pmatrix}0\\0\end{pmatrix}\) dargestellt werden kann.
